Last week, a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) sharpshooter, firing from a helicopter, killed two unarmed passengers in a pickup during a vehicle chase near the border town of La Joya.
No one in the vehicle was armed. The only shots fired were by law enforcement.

On November 1, members of the community gathered for a vigil to remember the lives of the two Guatemalan fathers who were killed and to pray for the recovery of another man injured during the indiscriminate law enforcement barrage.
