Austin Eldridge first began working with the ACLU of Texas in the beginning of 2017 as a Volunteer Legal Observer and now as a full-time Volunteer Coordinator in the Houston area. Prior to his work with the ACLU, Austin studied psychology and neuroscience at the University of Houston. Austin’s passion for social justice stems from his experiences working as a writing tutor at Lee College in Baytown, Texas, where he worked with many students who were often overlooked and discriminated against, and he helped them to share their unique stories with the community. He then went on to work as a field organizer during the 2016 election.
As a proud native Texan, Austin has joined our team to continue to fight for social justice through grassroots organizing and by encouraging everyone to share their own unique stories with the community at large.
