Drucilla Tigner is a policy & advocacy strategist at the ACLU of Texas, where she leads the Sexuality & Gender Equality team. The team is responsible for policy advocacy on abortion access, reproductive freedom, and LGBTQIA+ equality. In this role, she oversaw the launch of the Texas Abortion Advocacy Network (TAAN) to organize abortion advocates across the state and fought against some of the most restrictive anti-abortion laws in the country at both the state and local levels.
Prior to joining the ACLU of Texas in 2019, Drucilla served as the communications and development director for The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston, where she built and implemented their first ever strategic communications plan for donors and supporters from the ground up. She has also been a practicing attorney specializing in consumer rights litigation and a community outreach specialist for Planned Parenthood Texas Capitol Region.
Drucilla is a native Texan. She holds a law degree from William and Mary Law School, where she was a senior editor of the W&M Journal of Women and the Law, and a B.A. in government from the University of Texas. She lives in Houston.
