Vicente Martinez joined the ACLU of Texas in 2019 as the new Rio Grande Valley volunteer coordinator. Vicente is passionate about creating positive change in Texas. He graduated as a first-generation college student from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with a bachelor’s of business administration in accounting. He became involved with Planned Parenthood Texas Votes as a lead volunteer and later worked as a deputy field organizer for Texas Freedom Network where he worked with local residents to educate them on the importance of civic engagement.
His experiences while working for these progressive organizations made him realize he had a deep passion for social justice causes. From text-banking to block walking, Vicente is up for the challenge to create the positive change he envisions for the Rio Grande Valley.
