Oppose: HB 2020 is not real bail reform. The bill would severely restrict judges from doing their jobs effectively and efficiently, while potentially creating a massive backlog and delays in bail hearings, keeping defendants in jail for longer periods of time.

Update 3/11/19: This bill has been referred to the House Criminal Jurisprudence committee.

Update 4/23/19: Voted out of committee and is now awaiting a House vote.

Update 5/10/19: The House voted to pass this bill.
