Oppose: Senator Perry's bill would codify existing discriminatory University Interscholastic League rules. SB 29 would rigidly require school sports teams to force students to compete based on their "sex as correctly stated" on their birth certificates, which could cause some schools to intrusively inquire about students’ genitalia or private medical information to determine if someone’s sex is “correctly stated.”

Update May 31, 2021: This bill was postponed in the House, effectively blocking it from becoming law.
