Know where your future state legislators stand

October 1, 2020

This November, the Texas Legislature is on the ballot. This page is a resource to help you understand where your state representatives stand on civil rights.

We reached out to candidates running in 18 Texas Senate District races and all 150 Texas House District races and invited them to participate in our candidate questionnaire process. The questionnaire was designed to determine their positions on the ACLU of Texas’ five primary issue areas: Smart Justice, Reproductive Rights, LGBTQ+ Equality, Immigrants' Rights and Voting Rights.

Step 1: Search for your candidate and district number

Plug in your address on the Texas Legislature website to find out your Texas House and Senate district number and current representatives.

Step 2: Find out where your candidate stands on civil rights

Enter a candidate name or your Texas House or Senate district number into the search function in the table below, located in the first row under the table title.
