HR Associate

The HR Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day coordination and administration of the organization’s human resources activities. This role requires a minimum of 24 hours each week working in-person/on-site and serves as a key point of contact for staff HR needs while supporting the HR & Admin Ops team. The HR Associate provides general support for recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits administration, and HR compliance. The HR Associate’s duties include data entry, organizing records, scheduling, staff communications, and supporting HR programs and training.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Administration and Employee Support

  • Maintain organized and accurate HR records, HRIS transitions, and personnel files.
  • Support the administration of HR processes including new hire documentation, employee changes, and offboarding procedures.
  • Assist staff with general HR inquiries and direct them to appropriate resources or policies.
  • Maintain and update internal HR documents including staff communication memos and forms.
  • Assist in maintaining HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Perform administrative duties including data entry, maintaining spreadsheets, tracking employee information, and preparing reports.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information.

Recruitment and Hiring Support

  • Provide administrative support to the HR team throughout the recruitment process.
  • Assist with posting job openings and maintaining job listings across hiring platforms.
  • Help organize and maintain recruitment files, applicant materials, and hiring documentation.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates, hiring managers, and staff.
  • Assist with communicating interview logistics and scheduling details to candidates.
  • Maintain recruitment tracking spreadsheets and update hiring data.
  • Assist with preparing recruitment materials and organizing interview packets.

Onboarding and New Hire Support

  • Assist with coordinating onboarding logistics for new hires and interns.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and welcome information for new employees.
  • Help ensure new hires complete required employment documentation.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation scheduling and introductions across teams.
  • Support the New Hire Process in collaboration with HR and Operations staff.
  • Assist with maintaining onboarding checklists and documentation.

HR Team and Staff Support

  • Assist with scheduling HR meetings, trainings, and internal staff sessions.
  • Support logistics for staff trainings, workshops, and all-staff related events.
  • Assist with internal HR communications and distributing staff updates or announcements.
  • Help maintain HR resource materials available to staff.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR/Admin Ops team as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR support role.
  • Proficiency with common HR software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple administrative tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing records, data, and documentation.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with scheduling, coordinating meetings, and managing calendars or logistics.

COMPENSATION

The starting salary for this position is $60,000. This role includes excellent benefits such as a generous Paid Time Off policy, medical, dental and vision insurance; 401(k) plan with an employer match; life and long-term disability insurance, and generous paid holidays.
