Molly Ivins was a political commentator, journalist, proud Texan, and longtime supporter of the ACLU. Her inspiring career began at the Houston Chronicle, where she was an intern and moved up to become an editor at the Texas Observer and eventually join the staff of The New York Times. Her legacy lives on through her writings that shook up political conversations nationwide, but especially right here in her home state of Texas.

"Raise Hell: The Life & Times of Molly Ivins" is a new documentary film that chronicles her personal life and professional career. This month, Texans will get a first look at the documentary and learn more about the inspiring journalist whose razor-sharp wit left both sides of the aisle laughing, and craving for more. Her legacy will never be forgotten at the ACLU of Texas. She traveled the country speaking to audiences of all backgrounds – bringing laughter and clarity during very troubling times. She was one-of-a-kind, but we will continue to do the important work that would make her proud.
