Trisha Trigilio, Staff Attorney for the ACLU of Texas, will serve as a panelist for the 2017 Spring Conference, Misdemeanor Defendants and the 85th Legislative Session jointly hosted by the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights at The University of Texas School of Law, the American Journal of Criminal Law, and the Texas Fair Defense Project.
This conference examines the unique problems faced by misdemeanor defendants and the pending reforms in this area of criminal law. Panel topics include:
- Starting on the wrong foot: Arrests, pretext stops, and the legacy of Sandra Bland
- Pretrial Reform
- Debtors' Prison
The State Bar of Texas has accredited this conference for 3.75 hours of CLE credit. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided. The conference is free and open to the public, but space is limited and advance registration is required. Deadline: January 23, 2017.
