PUBLIC FORUM

Thursday, January 26, 2006, 5:30-6:30 PM CORPORATIONS AS PERSONS

Some of us are very opposed to corporate power/personhood; others think the rights of corporations should be preserved.  Is personhood the core of corporate power?

U.T. Law Professor Douglas Laycock, renowned scholar of the First Amendment, will open our discussion on the right of corporations to be considered as persons, as current law provides. He will be joined by David Van Os for a lively discussion.

The format--we will sit around a conference table so that we can best enjoy and participate in the debate. Ms. Ruth Epstein will moderate.

We've tried moving the forums to accomodate members' schedules and preferences.  Alas! We can't please everybody.  Still trying, though.  January, February and March forums will be in the conference room of ACLU of Texas Hq. 1210 Rosewood, Austin 78702.The time is the same--5:30- 6:30 pm, last Thursday of the month.  Delayed showings on access tv are the same--7-8 pm Thursdays on T-W access channel 10.  Come early to chat and nibble.
