Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Monday announced investigations into North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Dallas Independent School District, and Manor Independent School District outside Austin in response to student protests.

School districts across Texas will vote by March 1 on whether to implement Senate Bill 11, which would allow for a dedicated daily period for prayer and the reading of “the Bible and other religious texts" in public schools. 

Government officials cannot punish students simply because they dislike their message.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, sitting en banc, heard oral arguments in two cases challenging state laws in Texas and Louisiana that require public schools to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom.
